Excel data base

Hi Guys!

This is becoming my favourite forum, anyhow lets get down to bussiness.

I was asked to write an excel data base to do the following.

The excel file will have a certain amount of departments. If you are from department a for example, you come down and select ?department a? from the drop down menu, then you input the name of you machine and the excel sheet should display all the wires and their serial codes required for your machine.

Any ideas how to go about it? An additional feature would be to display a picture of a wire beside each wire name.

This thing is starting to give me a headache ^^

P.S. My definition of wire here also means cable and here is a link to what I?ve got so far, I?m not great at excel but am asked to use it
