Excel Drop Down Menus

By mhuskins ·
My company has asked me to develop a form for them, I need help with on aspect of it. I need a drop down menu that a tech can pick a part from, once picked I need other boxes to be automatically populated with related information, such as part number, man hours for installation, cost per item. is this possible?

After using a dropdown list you can use VLOOKUP to populate other cells based on the results of the dropdown. This can all be done on the worksheet. No form is required.

In Excel you can use data validation to create a drop down list. You could achieve the same using forms in Word. However, if this is a growing requirement you may be better off using Access as this will be easier to maintain.
