Excel graph's in a Word doc.

By h.komisarz ·
I have a user that insert's 4 Excel graph's into a Word doc., two per page.
When the Word doc. Is saved then re-opened all of the graph's are on the first page one on top of the other. Have been unable to find a way to keep the graph's from moving.
This happens both word 97 (SP2) and word 2000

Try and make sure that the frame settings for the excel image is set to overlay on top of the text. If you right-click the excel image, and select Format Options - you will be able to change this. In Word 2000 the tab is called Layout and the layout style is called in front of text. You may also want to try tight. I have had tons of problems with images in word. One of the bigger problems is placing images next to each other - word doesn't seem to like that too much. I have found that documents requiring lots of images work better in applications like publisher.

hope this helps.

Borrow a trick from HTML: put each graph into a table cell. On each page, just add a two-cell table.

You can also use PAGE BREAK which will set a memory space for the 2nd 2 graphs.

All of the answers already given are great. Here's another suggestion. If you want a certain layout, you can anchor the graphs. You do this by going to format --> Object or Picture (depending on what it is), then under the layout tab, click on the advanced. Then you can check on Anchor Lock. That should hold it in place.

Hope this helps.
