My system is running perfectly except for a problem which occurs with Excel 2000, When I try to open Excel 2000 the system either blue screens with the following error message “A fatal exception OE occured at 017F:BFF9DFFF. The current appplication will be terminated” I press a key to continue and receive this message “Excel has caused a general protection error in module user.exe at 0006:0000575F” click close and it blue screens again or it hangs and then gives me the System is dangerously lowon resources error message which leads to a Blue screen.
My system is Win 98 and I’ve got 310 MB RAM and all other applications open without a problem, i’ve got older versions of Excel on my system which open without any problems.
I’ve installed all SPs and carried out all the usual troubleshooting tests to try and get it open, to no avail, I’m tending to think that it may be a Damaged Memory error but i could be wrong.
If anyones come accross this or knows a cure for it could they let me know as it’s doing my head in.
