Excel Question_Link to Another Sheet

By afrailey ·
I have a drop down list and when I click on an item in the drop down list, I want to be able to automatically map to another sheet within the workbook.

Have any suggestions?

Thanks!

insert hyperlink

You should be able to do this from the hyperlink menu. Select the item you want to go to the other worksheet and go to hyperlink menu either by right clicking or from insert menu. Im not sure exactly how it will work with drop down list though. From hyper link menu there is an option for "Place in This Document". Choose that and you should see the sheets in your workbook. select the one you want. This info is from Excel 2000 but should work closely to the others.

Hope this is what you needed.

I appreciate your input on this issue. I had originally tried with a hyperlink, however I cannot get the hyperlink to work in a drop-down menu. I also tried using a macro, when I record the macro I click on the name in the drop down menu and then map it to the spreadsheet associated with that name; however the macro for some reason isn't running correctly. When I run the macro it doesn't associate the name in the drop down menu with the spreadsheet. If I manually run the macro it will just go to the spreadsheet that I mapped it to, however won't choose a name in the drop down menu.

I ended up making some buttons with macros and that seems to work alright, although I know there must be an easier way.

Unfortunately I am not a programmer. I do have some knowledge of VB Code, however not enough to write the code. I did try real hard though.

Thanks again for your input - and please feel free to send any more suggestions if any come your way.

Thanks!
