Excel rows problems with resizing

By pdown ·
One of my users has an Excel spreadsheet that resizes the rows to the text contents and others rows that won't. It seems that he always has one added line at the bottom of the row. There are no extra lines in the cell and all cells in the row, but this one, are clear. I have even used the paint brush to copy the formatting from a cell that works correctly. That did not help. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Try using the TRIM() function to make sure there are no extra characters

I tried the Trim function and this did not work because it said I got a message that the formula was too long. Any other suggestions?

Assuming the data is in the A column, choose an empty column and enter the formula
Copy the formula down the column.
How much text is being entered?
While 32,767 characters can be entered in a cell, only 1,024 will be displayed.

The answer may be easier than trimming. In File - Page Setup on the Page tab, if you have chosen
"Fit to 1 page wide by 1 page tall" to force the data onto one page, Excel will automatically resize any larger fields to fit within the page.
I find it better to choose the other scaling choice and then drag the page breaks to where I want them in Page Break Preview.
