Excel Worksheet comparisons

By iversn ·
I have 2 excel 2000 worksheets with similar columns. I want to compare the data in 5 columns from each worksheet. How do I do this?

There are many solutions. One of the Easier is: 1) open both worksheets; 2) sel 5 col (A,B,C,D,E rows N to last with data, smaller copy & paste), copy, in 2nd sheet sel 5 co nxt to exist sheet 1 (F-J, same # rows), paste. Put whatever comparison you want in col K-O. There is a way to reference the 2nd sheet from the first (saves copy/paste). If you have 1 work book with 2 sheets you can use 'Sheet1!<cell>' (or sheet name) to ref a cell 2nd, 3rd sheet. Try '=IF(Sheet1!A1>Sheet2!A1,"TRUE","FALSE"). Can put in either sheet or a 3rd sheet. lo
