Excell 97

By Ronald Davidson ·
What can cause the options feature under Tools to disappear? This has happened several times and so far the only way to recover is to re-install Excel.

I think this is Microsoft?s shifty way of telling you to upgrade to their latest and greatest software. ;-)

It has been a while since I used Office 97. Have you tried to go into ?Customize Toolbar? to bring it back? I know for Excel 2002 you can do a View>Tools>Customized.

You also might want to Search for Customize Toolbars in here as I found some bugs related to Excel 97 that might be affecting you.

Hello!
I can't tell you the reason why "option" vanishes from the "Tools" menu, but to restore it there should be no need to re-install.
Try this:
1) click with the secondary mouse button on one of the toolbars (doesn't matter which one)
2) select the customizing voice at the end of the toolbars list
3) forget the dialog that appears and make another click with the secondary button on the "Tools" menu
4) select the first entry that should be something like "Default" or "Reset"
I apologize cause I'm not sure about the correct names of the menu entries but I've only got the italian version of Excel!
