Exchange 2000

I am having a proble with an exchange 2000 server.
When an employee sends an email to more than one recipeint and one of those recipeints is an employee , duplicate emails are sent. The header info on the two emails indicate that one is sent from the original sender and the other is sent from the exchange server. Can anyone help me understand what may be happening?
