By rtramel ·
The bad mail folder on my Exchange 2000, keeps filling my hard drive to the tune of a 1G a day. How can I stop this?

Copy the contents of that folder into another one and delete the original. Then rename the new one with the original's name.

You can't delete the folder.

You can delete the contents of the bad mail folder - however I would personally be very worried if it is filling up with 1 GB of data a day - this would suggest something else is wrong.
I run 7 Exchange Servers for 4500 users and the most Bad Mail reaches per day is 5 MB.

Just to say that I have seen that Bad Mail folder growth a number of times before, and all the systems concerned have been infected by the Sobig virus or its variants, so check your Exchange server and all outlook clients very carefully.

You should be getting very few mails in your badmail folder.
