Exchange 2000 cluster

By sharon ·
I have a question about setting up clustering. My company wants to set up a 2nd exchange server at a co-location for failover purposes. I've been doing some research on clustering, but I havent found any info on setting up clustering across a wan. Does anyone know of any good articles? or have any helpful information on this? I really appreciate the help. Thanks.

you can't cluster over a wan. unless you use iSCSI.

what you want to do is have a reduntant internet email presence. you need to tell your dns hosting company that you want another MX record with a higher cost. Set that MX record to point to the email server at the other site

I found what i was looking for. I think I may have worded the question wrong when i said cluster. We are going to use failover software, such as DoubleTake to get a backup email server set up at our co-location. Thanks for the info.
