Incoming mail from an externally hosted application is addressed to & is from the same e-mail address (sender is user@domain.com & recipient is the same address) The mail is being rejected by Exchange 2003 SBS. The sending application logs show-
Failure Reason: Error transferring to mail.domian.com; SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error 554 5.1.0 Sender Denied
If the message is sento to another internal address as well, rejection message refers to 250 2.1.5
Does anyone have an idea as to what settings will cause this problem of rejecting mail sent from an external source from a valid internal e-mail address to a valid internal e-mail address

Poster rated this answer. There are no entries in the RBl settings. Have tried adding the IP address of the sending mail server as acceptable but this did not work either. The issue only arises when the sender address on messages from an externally hosted application sent from a third party mail server is from the receiving domain.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
