Exchange 5.5 Global Address List

I Have two locations hooked together with the site connector. We have hidden entries in the GAL that aren’t on either server. They appear to be entries of employees that are no longer here and were hidden, then deleted from one site of the other, but they are still in the GAL. How do I remove the hidden entries that remain in the Global Address list?
