Ok, long story short,
i cannot use the NTDSnomatch utility, (ntdsatrb.exe), from exchange 2k servicepack 3, on a 2k server with all service packs and critical updates installed… (exchange 2k is not installed on this server yet, according to knowledge base article 274173, you only need a 2k machine, and read permission to the exchange 5.5 directory…
i am using an account with domain admin, schema admin, enterprise admin, and exchange admin (should this cover permissions?:P)
so WHY OH WHY does this utility fail every single time and unable to ‘find exchange’?
again, our 2k domain controller is the global catalog server, and the DNS/DHCP/WINS server… and its setup properly, ping to exchange works, so netbios is all ok also…
whats going on please? this problem has stalled our upgrade to 2k exchange 🙁
