Exchange 5.5 upgrade

By Brian ·
We are planning a Exchange 5.5 upgrade to new hardware. We like to use Win 2003 Server and Exchnage 2003 when it comes out. What is the easiest way to move the data to the new server? I guess if you do not know about 2003 use the Windows 2000 method. Any help would be great.

What has been done at my company is first upgrading to active directory by replacing te BDC's witch win2000 DC's
Finally we could remove the old PDC and go to a native windows 2000 ADS network

After this we installed new servers with exchange 2000, installed a ADC (a connector between exchange 5.5 and exchange 2000) and moved the users to exchange 2000 in the same exchange organisation.

Finally we removed the empty exchange 5.5 servers from the organisation.

Be careful of the public folders (replicate them before removing them) and don't forget the roles the first mailserver in the organisation has!! (read your course material!!!)
