    Exchange 5.5 with SP3

    Hi all,

    I am facing one issue with Exchange 5.5 SP3 and Mcafee groupshield running on it. Issue is messages in the users mailbox showing as read state whereas user never opened that mail.
    I am a bit confused becuase this problem has suddenly started before it was working fine.

      what groupshield version are you running?

      What was the last thing you did before this started happening?

      Have you confirmed that it is all e-mail or just some. Is it just one users mailbox or multiple peoples?

      I would set up a test mailbox that no one can get into except for yourself. Send about 100 e-mails to it, and then check to see if any of them appear as read.

      It could also be that they have instant read on and they don’t realize it. I have never seen groupshield or exchange just randomly mark messages as read. There is always a logical explination, most of it usually being user error.
