Exchange Permissions

By Hard_Yakka ·
I have two AD domains in a single forest. Exchange 2003 is installed on several servers in the Top level domain. Users are located in the bottom domain along with Administrative accounts.

When an Administrator attempt to add an email address to a mail anabled contact or mail enable a contact they receive the error. "An Exchange Server could not be found in the domain, Check if the SA is running" ID c10308a2

This works fine for my administrative account. The administrators who receive the error have fewer permissios then my account.

The accounts in questiobn have Exchange full administrator permissions to the Exchange Org and do have permissions to create / adminster the contacts.

I do not wish to relax the permissons any more then is necessary as the other Administrative users work for a third party support organisation.

What are the minimum permissions necessary to add an email address to a contact or mail enable a contact.

Thank you for your post, I have tested by adding a contact, then assigning all the permissions using ADSI Edit. Unfortuniately the same error occurs. "An Exchange Server could not be found in the domain, Check if the SA is running" ID c10308a2

I have given "full Control" on both the object and the properties of a test contact. When I look at the "Effective Permissions" on the group that should be able to make changes, They have read / write access to all the attributes listed.
