Exchange + Signatures

By msft ·
hi guys,

just wondering if Exchange is capable of having a global signature...i.e. signatures appear automatically across ALL outlook clients automatically when they are creating/replying messages.

Thanks

Scripting Guys sample

by James A Bailey In reply to Exchange + Signatures

I was reading the latest Technet magazine a couple of days ago and saw this same question. Check out this Scripting Guys sample.

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/technetmag/issues/2006/10/HeyScriptingGuy/

Skip to the end of the drawn out fat of the article to finally get to what it does:

Binds to the Active Directory? user account for the logged-on user, retrieving the user's name, job title, department, company, and phone number.

Creates a new instance of Word and a blank Word document. (Note that this time we don't set the Visible property to True?that way Word never appears onscreen while the script runs.)

Creates a new e-mail signature (named AD Signature) based on property values retrieved from Active Directory.
Assigns the new e-mail signature to both the NewMessageSignature and ReplyMessageSignature properties.

Exits Word.

Hi,

thanks for that. however, does it depend on the logged on user to the Exchange mailbox, or the logged on user to Windows?

Thanks
