Exchange recipients limit

I’m involved in a migration project from Notes to Exchange 2003. My customer is asking for setting up a limit of max. 15 recipients for single email. I would be confirmed that using a distribution list, Exchange will count the list not as a single recipient, but as the total of recipients included in the list.

Are you trying to enforce this limit as part of the migration of the groups? Exchange will parse out the names in the list and they all will count towards the limit. I would suggest migrating all of the groups the way they are first, then apply the 15 recipient limits on emails only when you have had a chance to go through the groups that were imported and find out which of them have more than 15 names. For just about any size organization, I could see this limit as a real showstopper.
