Exchange Schema Mods not on DC

By jondapicam ·
I have a coworker at another location who is trying to duplicate our Exchange Server 2000 and DC (Server 2000) environment for testing purposes. When he does the Exchange Server 2000 install, the schema changes which include the entries for making an Exchange account, when you add a user to AD, do not show up on the DC.

My knowledge of Exchange Server 2000 is limited. I know he has to install Exchange 2000 as an Enterprise Admin, but that is about it.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

There are two commands you need to run first before you install exchange.

From the exchange CD run setup /forestprep and then setup /domainprep on the DC.

Then you should be able to install Exchange properly on another box.

Both have been done and completed without error.

setup /forestprep and setup /domainprep have been run, but do they have to be run also as an enterprise admin?
