Exchange will not recognize NIC

I am running Exchange server 5.5 SP4 on NT Server 4.0 SP 5. I am trying to change the NIC card but when I install the new card and boot the server my workstations cannot connect to Exchange. All other networking works, Shares, network printing. If I put the old NIC back in Exchange works like a charm. Any help would be appreciated.
