Exhange Will NOT Pick Mails from ISP

By dindome ·
I just set up Exchange 5.5 and connects to ISP periodically. However Exchange will not pick mails? ISP is using Unix and have ETRN setup to fwd mails to machine requesting, as my exchange server does not have a static IP. I have also set up ETRN butexchange still will not pick the mails. Transfer mode is Inbound & Outbound and routing tables are to my domain name. My ISP hosts my domain. When I use any other pop email programs, I am able receive mails but not with Exchange.
Any ideas??????

To allow MS Exchange Server IMC receive inbound mail you or your provider must add two DNS records:A and MX, which should point to your Exchange Server IP address to DNS accesible from Internet.

Try to use dequeue.exe to trigger the dequeueing process from the exchange server itself (not sure if this will do the trick if you don't have a static IP, though) you can get it (and other good info) at http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_dq.htm
Otherwise, you could try to schedule a program like finger to initiate the connection and the dequeue process.

Also, try to get a static IP number for your exchange server.
