Expire user account on Laptop

By EZmoney ·
I need to set user accounts on a laptop running W2K pro so taht they
will expire in 30 days. I know this can be done in a domain with
active directory but I can not find the same options on a standalone
machine. I figure there must be a registry hack someone knows about.

TIA

Expire user account on Laptop

I couldn't find the registry entry for this. It may only exist with Domain user accounts and not local user accounts.

You might try this as a work-around.
1. In user account properties, set the account so that the "User cannot change password."
2. In Local Security Policy, set the Password Policy so that the Maximum Password Age is 30 days.

This should have the same effect as expiring the user account. The password will expire and the user won't be able to change it.

Hope this helps.
