Extra Data in Sub-Report

By SixFourtyKilo ·
I have a report that, based on a query, finds names in an affiliate (city) and displays their information in the header of each report. The detail then contains a subreport that runs another query based on the persons "role" and finds other people that have the same role (so in other words, it prints multiple people per page in the detail section, all with the same role). When I preview the report, the subreport will randomly display other roles from other people. The numbers don't match, the two reports are linked through child and master fields and the query even has a WHERE clause that checks to be sure that the two roles match. It doesn't seem to matter how many roles actually match, it seems completely random but occurs for the same people each time.

WHOA!!! I am no expert in parent child linkages but I do know this. You are probably exceeding the capacity of dear quirky Access -Access correct? U didn't say. I r a progrmr 2 & but Access is not a prgrmmg lang. The KISS method is in order here - keep it simple ... so you have city, names roles matching to other people's roles? Try to simplify. Did you try to build rpt step at at time? Does the lowest level query & subreport work correctly? I have found annomalies in Access I've had to work around OOPs out of space

Hello Again, If you are interested in more of my opinion here goes -I am flying blind here Is the data static or dynamic? Some work around possibilities: epressions, group levels & controls. If data is static-loading a query into a table? There is usually a way around everything and always more than one way to solve the problem. I've had trouble getting queries of queries to work at times. Hope this helps
