Extracting info from a text file

By maria.quintanilla ·
I need to extract info from our TSM application. The file is DSM.OPT and can be opened with NOTEPAD.EXE. I need 3 lines of text from this file and would like to possibly extract it into a text file (easier) or a excel file. I have experience using PSEXEC but I don't think this will work. Please email me your suggestions. Thanks for the help!

You say that you can open the file in Notepad. Why can you not then copy and paste the contents (3 lines) to another text file?
I guess I don't know what you mean by "extract".

You could always just type it into the other application, if you don't want to Cut & Paste.
