Fail to load acrobat prof

By tim.chan ·
Hi:

Everything works fine until:

I install window vista and reinstall acrobat 6.0 professional. Now as I go through internet and point to any pdf file link, it seems to load but fail to open. I have to use "save as" to download the file link before I can open it.

Any good solution?

Tim

I have had the exact same problem with XP. The work-around that you are using is the only one I know of.

I do save them to the desktop so that I can find them easily if I do not need to keep them. That way I either file it or delete it (I don't like desktop clutter).

Per Adobe....

They will not support Acrobat 6.0 on Vista.
You are now required to run 7.0 or 8.0.

Real nice of them, huh?

Adobe (vanilla) > 97.5MB - Foxit Reader < 3MB + it works!

Download and try it:

I think you might soon be saving yourself a heartache and a hundred megabytes!
