I have a co-worker, who has an Avertec 54000 laptop. When he first powers on the laptop, the fan turns on. After he’s logged in, the fan shuts off, and remains off, until the CPU overheats, and shuts down the laptop.
If he restarts after logging in, the fan works fine, and the laptop does not overheat, causing a shutdown.
Any suggestions on what might cause this problem?
