Favorite Television Series

By BFilmFan ·
I was at a luncheon today discussing plans next year activities when one of the directors suprised me by getting on the topic of favorite television series. What suprised me was this lady's total insistence that the greatest TV series of all time was Dragnet!

So in the spirit of interesting Friday converstion, I submit that the absolute greatest series in ALL of television history was Dr. Who! And will state that Tom Baker IS Dr. Who! Everyone else is just an actor playing the part!

I am interested in hearing the other regulars comments.

I did of course watch TV growing up and all but only a few times got drawn into a tv series. To name a favorite would be next to impossible for me...but the ones I have liked a lot include

Law and Order
Walker, Texas Ranger (still watch it every morning while getting ready for

You knew he was going to save the day and he could pretty much kick everyone's ***!

I do also enjoy the West Wing, it especially has gotten interesting. I used to watch Law and Order, but have been able to see many episodes lately.

First, no doubt that if you are a Doctor Who fan- Tom Baker is it-end of story

Faves include- M.A.S.H., Sliders, Star Trek (all flavors though the new ones took me awhile to warm up to), Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Profiler (at least the first seasons), Alias, CSI-Las Vegas (the other two are alright, but not addictive yet), Quantum Leap, Seinfeld, Friends, Monk (one of my very favorites of the new series' out there), The Prisoner, Happy Days, Mork and Mindy, Battlestar Galactica, The Fugitive, Roswell, Melrose Place and Beverly Hills 90210 (not that I'm proud of it, but I must admit I did watch 'em), also loved In Search Of...

Growing up in the 80's I would have to say Cheers and the Cosby show were favorites of my whole family. We used to look forward to Thursday nights to watch these shows. Now I have become a Everyone Loves Ray and Seinfeld re-run junky.

Oh yeah Everyone Loves Raymond is good too

I don't know why I was only thinking of the non-comedy stuff in my first post..

I catch Everyone Loves Raymond often too and just saw 4 episodes of Seinfeld back to back last night.

Just aren't what they used to be. Now the reality TV has taken over. I myself would rather watch re-runs on TVland and Nick and Night.

I just spoke with my husband

by maecuff In reply to Sit-Coms

and told him about this thread. He was disappointed that I didn't list, what he feels, the best sit-com of all times.. Sanford and Son. With The Beverly Hillbillies a close second.

Speaking of Nick at Night, when my son was much younger, around age 5, he LOVED Nick at Night. He said his favorite shows were Maxmo Smart and **** and ****. I had to explain that **** Van **** and **** and **** were two completely different things :)

No kidding

Not sure either, unless it automatically looks for keywords, who knows, but I know what show you were talking about. Some of the out takes from those shows are just as funny or more funny then the shows themselves.
