Fax solution for Exchange 5.5

By tgleason ·
I need to implement a Fax server solution in my company. I have been researching fax software to work with exchange. Is it better to implement a seperate fax server or to integrate software with my existing exchange server. I would also like information on experiences you have had with this setup and what software is recommended.

Fax solution for Exchange 5.5

by tony.colgrove In reply to Fax solution for Exchange ...

I have used FaxMaker from GFI, and found it very easy to use, and worked really well. Two implementations used a seperate Fax Server which was a nice load off of the Exchange Server. FaxMaker creates a connector (just like the IMS) which then sends the fax to the fax server piece (which can be moved to a seperate server, or left on the Exchange server itself) They have a free 5-user version, which can be upgraded with keycodes to more users, so you can pilot it to 5 VIPs, then add users as needed.

On another note FAXination is supposed to be one of the best out there. I have seen it working in a 2500 user environment, but did not get a chance to view settings/configuration (the good stuff)
Hope this helps.

Could you explain the solution for running the fax service on a seperate server a little bit more in detail.

Thanks for your help.
