File Download problem in IE7

By shree4089 ·
In IE7 When i m trying to a file from our application a file download window comes up with find, save , cancel buttons and no file extension present and also filename is not generated. As per our application the file name should be unique, which is auto generated and the extension is .sbx(.sbx is given in our application itself.)When i click on find button another windows opens up.. showing the below message. and this application works fine in case of IE6.This problem occurs only in IE7.
Any pointers plz

Are you trying to tell us that...

... when using IE6, you get a RUN, Save, Cancel option... but ON THE SAME COMPUTER, you get Find, Save, Cancel when using IE7?

OH! It's not on the same computer? You're testing with two different computers? Duh!

I hate to tell you, but that isn't an IE6 or IE7 problem. That is based on the programs you have installed ON the computer you're testing with. Either Windows recognizes the file extension and gives you the option to RUN the download, or it doesn't recognize the file extension and gives you the option to FIND a program that will run the download.

File Download problem in IE7

no when i use IE6 i get save and cancel with the file name autogenerated appended with .sbx extension. In IE7 the problem is as i told before. IU tried in the same system also (uninstalled IE6 and Installed IE7 on the same system). So i can surely tell that its not system specific error.

Check the file associations.
