file location

I use the MS flight simulator x fsx. It's a real "pig"using 15gb of hard drive.I use an intel 2.13ghz processor;with a 7950gt nvidia GeForce graphic processor. xp home os.I am tryng to learn how to move files;create data CD's for backups. The software fsx product consists of 2 cd's ;the first I installed to the computer as instructed by tutorial on software.Using the 2nd cd as a "boot-up";disc(if that's what it's called). In order for me to use the f/s I am prompted to insert disc2.The continual use of this disc concerned me;in regards to it becoming damaged.I tried to replicate disc2 with the dvd/cd burning device on the pc.I was not aware that inorder to burn a data file or video file the content must be downloaded to the hard drive and then retrieved to the blank cd.My disc2 is some place in the file system of my drive systems. The only other drive that had a data file was the "D" drive;this was a small file.I deleted it;the software continues to "bootup without using disc2 ?The other folders with files in them are on my C drive. Can I find the disc2 data and safely delete it.Should I be concerned about the quality of the operation of os;or conflict with the installed Disc2 .Any help appreciated;thanks. jerry
