File server on public side of Domain

I have 4 servers 2 2K servers set up as file servers and 2 Linux servers set up for email and web hosting. I need to know if I can have one of my file servers on the public side and keep the rest on the backside of the firewall. And if I can do thisI need to know how to implement the solution
