File size in Excel

I know Excel is limited to 256 columns and 65536 rows, however, the Help says that you are only limited to your computer’s available memory on how many sheets you can have in a workbook. How large of a file can you have if you have 512MB of RAM anda 24G hard drive? 200 MB, 700MB ??????
