FileMaker?

Hi - FileMaker was a pre-windows database manager as I remember. It was one of the best for it's time. Inexpensive, customizable, ... Look at

http://www.filemaker.com/

I haven't worked with it for some time but in the early 80's was really ao good piece of software.

Access may or may not be better. Have to do an evaluation of the two to see.

Lo

Filemaker is a very user friendly kind of database and is great for the unsophisticated user that requires ease-of-use over scalability. I would highly recommend it if:

1. The app is NOT multi-user (Filemaker does not have a good rep here IMHO)
2. You are not doing any 'weird' things like exporting data to any other type of system or software.
4. You do not require any heavy-duty type of data-modeling - as in the design of the DB is basic: a Mailing List, Basic meeting scheduling, Basic inventory tracking - that sort of thing.

For ANY developer doing DB work Access wins.

My recommendation is to go with the app that has the most features, fullfills the need with room for growth and can be supported.
