Filter Query In InfoPath

I have an InfoPath form that is connected to a library table on Sharepoint. The library table contains 17 fields that are all associated uniquely to an ID.
What I am trying to accomplish is to have a user type in the unique ID of a product, and once they enter, the respective information for that specific product will auto-populate the other 16 fields on the form, then create a new record for the next product ID, thereby eliminating data errors, as well as speed.
I am really new to InfoPath, and just learning my way around, so I know that I'm missing something someplace. I know where the query function is withing the form design...but can't figure out how to write it so that it returns the results that I want.
Can anyone give me some assistance in this? It would be much appreciated!
