You can disable it.

This article explains how to disable the Find Fast Indexer that is included with Microsoft Office.

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately when I went to the URL, it said the article wasn't available. I've uninstalled Win2K and reinstalled Win 98, disabled FindFast and then reinstalled Win2K and still receive the error. I found another article on FindFast and followed the directions letter by letter and still get the error. Something is calling for it and since it has been deleted, FindFast says it can't be found.

I've done everything in the article. Something is calling Find Fast and since FindFast isn't there the error still appears.

go to start/run and enter msconfig. Click on the startup tab. Uncheck the "microsoft find fast" item. Click ok, reboot and get rid of the little resource sucker.

Thanks Gary. I tried to run msconfig and it can't be found. Is it part of Win2K? I can't find it on the cd, either. I've searched the registry for FindFast, also ran sysedit and regedit. FindFast is Nowhere. I'm stumped.

Msconfig doesn't seem to be on my machine or come with Windows 2000. I searched the startup and didn't find it. However, I ran regedit32 and found that under software/Office was calling for Findfast. My question is can I delete the findfast folder. FindFast wasn't in the regular registry.
