finding my windows xp product key

how do i find the product key with a program like magical jelly beans and will it work if i cant get windows to work

I'd say, obviously not, but then again, I don't exactly know what you mean by. "cant get windows to work".

What are your symptoms of Windows not working?

i mean windows wont boot at all

windows wont start i can put my disk in but cannot get the repair option to work but the drive is being detected cuz i can use the command promp from the repair option and see the directory of the drive

You'll need to find a bootable CD with an offline registry editor, or with an installed MJ or similar app.

Have you tried the fixboot and fixmbr commands to get the installed XP booted? At what point does the boot fail?

If you can't get it to boot, try running the Recovery console and run this command from the C prompt

%systemroot%\system32\reg query HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion /v ProductId

Maybe if you retain some moisture in that cavity below your cranium referred to as the mouth, some of it might warm up, rise, and lubricate your brain.

Everything'll make more sense then coz you're sure as **** not making any sense now!

ps Are you double jointed or maybe a ballet dancer ? :)
