Firefox Bookmarks dilemma

By nccastle ·
I have a friend who had a laptop whose motherboard died. The hard disk was fine, so I plugged it into another computer to get the files out. The friend just bought a new computer, which I will transfer the files to. Unfortunately, Firefox has to store its bookmark files in some obscure hard-to-fine file that isn't so great when you can't actually run Firefox.

Can anyone tell me how to get the bookmarks out?

That you are lost, until those who think come to your aid.

That was rude.

I checked the favorites folder, where apparently every other web browser stores its bookmarks and it was empty. I know that she has bookmarks and a lot of them. Everything from my searches has either assumed that Firefox is in a functional state, or that an ancient version of Firefox was used.

As I wasn't sure which version of FF you had there or which OS was being used I thought that was easier.

Stored passwords?

by TobiF In reply to Firefox Bookmarks dilemma

If your friend had any passwords stored, then a free little app from this guy may help to retreive more useful information.

You are Spetnaz. The visage is appropriate. So is the link.

Blushing :)

Nah. Not SpetsNaz (Although I speak Russian fluently...)
But I'm really interested in computers and internet.
And, rather than simply answering a question, I try to understand the situation and think a bit outside the box.

And if you'd rather backup and restore the entire profile,
