Firefox on OSX is not obeying my settings (as I understand them). It is including recently visited sites on my Home page (three rows) despite the setting ‘Shortcuts’ only being ticked. I want just a fixed set for a stable set of favs. Any help appreciated.

      It sounds like it’s broken.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-firefox-home-screen notes there are five settings there but hey, if you did find a bug, report it at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/file-bug-report-or-feature-request-mozilla

No one here fixes these bugs, report them at that link.

If you have set a new home page on Firefox, but it is still opening up to the previous one, then this may be due to an extension being installed on your browser. You can try disabling all extensions.

      So this maybe the problem

      1. The “Recently Visited” setting may be enabled. To check this, open Firefox and go to Menu > Preferences > Home. Under Recently visited, make sure that the checkbox next to Show recently visited sites is unchecked.

      2. The “Top Sites” feature is enabled. The Top Sites feature shows a list of the websites that you have visited most often. To check if this feature is enabled, go to Menu > Preferences > Home. Under Top Sites, make sure that the checkbox next to Show Top Sites is unchecked.

      3. Custom home page set. If you have set a custom home page, it may be overriding the “Shortcuts” setting. To check this, go to Menu > Preferences > Home. Under Homepage, make sure that the text box is empty.

If it still persists, try restarting Firefox or reinstalling it.
