Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me out. I’m Using Vista Premium Home on a 2 month old HP machine. About a month and a half ago, I installed Firefox 3.x, because it’s not IE. I went on travel for a couple weeks, and when I got back, Firefox can no longer see the network. Firefox cannot see anything. IE and Symantec LiveUpdate can still get online, but Firefox cannot.
I’ve ensured no one had admin level access while I was on travel, and can find no evidence of configuration changes while I was gone. I’ve turned off Windows Defender, and Windows Firewall, but to no avail. I’ve checked other machines on my network, and they all work fine (non-Vista, of course). I’ve also checked my router and hardware firewalls, in case there were intrusion rules or something, also to no avail.
I have Symantec Anti-Virus, but not the client firewall (since I have a hardware firewall). I tried uninstalling Firefox (both with and without saving user prefs), and reinstalling, without success. I’ve tried setting permissions on the shotcuts. I’ve tried changing the compatability settings to emmulate XP or 2000, but all with no success at all. I’m so frustrated, and need assistance. Please help.
