Firefox private browsing: Not so private due to Flash Cookies

By robo_dev ·
Using Firefox private browsing or clearing your browsing history removes all traces of where you've been, right?

Nope.

Flash Cookies will show exactly where the user of the browser has been, private mode or not, history cleared, or not.

How to view your Flash Cookies?
Just go to your Website Storage Settings panel.

Goto this page:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager06.html

The above window is not a 'sample page' that's where you've been since you installed Flash. It only shows pages that use Flash, which is what, most of them these days?

The strange part of this app is that you cannot do this offline.

From there you can clear Flash Cookies so the boss/wife/husband/girlfriend/etc cannot see what you're really up to.
