Fix IE7

By dorierez ·
How can IE7 change the options without my input?
I just found out that I could not open pages in IE because (it seems)"Do not allow popups" was checked.
Here is link to MS to fix my problem but it did not. Maybe it will fix yours?

What other toolbars do you have installed?

by ThumbsUp2 In reply to Fix IE7

Block Popups is turned on by default. So, if you didn't turn it off, it's left on after install.

Popups can also be blocked by toolbars you have installed, such as Google toolbar. There are many more which do the same thing.

Maybe it came back when I rest the options. Thanks for your info.
Still, yesterday IE7 did not work. Did not do anything, today it works...

Also sometimes when you install applications

They add a Toolbar. I've seen several Apps that install the Yahoo Toolbar when you install them.

Many people mistakenly believe that the app that they installed is the problem when it is actually what is included with what it is that they installed.

Basic IE toolbar

Today, no luck. IE works well on my laptop but I don't like to use it. It's just for work. I compared the Options and made them all the same. Still no luck. It's crazy.

What about Installed ToolBars

by OH Smeg Moderator In reply to Basic IE toolbar

Left Click on View and then Highlight Toolbars.

You will need to uninstall any that are installed not just hide them.

Google Toolbar also causes quite a few problems so I would advise it's removal.

A couple of things to try

by Jacky Howe In reply to Fix IE7

You can use Device Manager to change the power management settings for a network adapter. To disable this setting in Device Manager, expand Network Adapters, right-click the adapter, click Properties, click the Power Management tab, and then clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.

Click Start, Run and type netsh winsock reset and press Enter or click OK.

for looking at the problem square on. I don't understand why some people can't stay on track and "try to help" by shoving the problem under the carpet. For that you get a thumbsup too.
