Go back to the Folder Options dialogue box ...

There is a check box for 'Hide Protected System Files' - uncheck it.

Your original post stated that after changing the 'Hidden files and folders' option , you still couldn't find what you were looking for.

What I'm saying is: you may be looking for something that falls under BOTH categories. Your target may also be a Protected System File.

Let me know how you get on.

What 'hidden' folder/file you are trying to uncover.

Then I'll be able to recreate the same situation.

Job role = student

by 1bn0 In reply to folder options

Isthis your computer or a school computer.

If it is a school computer the settings you are trying to cahnge may be locked down by the system administrators.

If so you will not have access rights to change them.
