Folder Synchronize Issue

By brian ·

We have a windows domain with AD in place. We
don't use roaming profiles. We have some users
that need to have their My Documents
synchronized. For the most part, it works. We
have one user in particular that it errors out
on a bunch of files (I haven't counted the
files, could be 20-50 files).

The folder has about 5GB of files, including
pictures, Excel docs and Word docs. The error
that it reports when finished synchronizing is
"Access Denied". These are files that belong
to the user. She put them there and she "owns"

We have tried disabling Offline Files/Folders
and clearing the cache using ctrl/shift and
clicking on delete, then re-syncing, with the
same result. Another strange behavior that I
noticed is that if we disable Offline Files and
clear the cache, when we re-enable it, it
automatically picks up on the old settings,
showing all of her old files before we've even
told it which folders to make available

Are there any limitations to offline folders?
Is 5GB too high? Also, why do you suppose we
are getting Accessed Denied errors on her
files? Perhaps this Windows feature simply
isn't robust enough and a 3rd party tool is
more appropriate. Any input is appreciated.
