Is it possible to create a new folder in Excel? (Like you can do in Word) If so, how?

Choose File>Save or Save As
Click the folder icon on the toolbar that has a star on the top corner.
or hit Alt+5
(That's 5 on the number row, not the keypad.

I didn't see your 2nd question, I don't think you can do this in 97. I think you'll need 2000 or above.
