font book old fonts and duplicates

by smallfish86 . Updated 16 years, 6 months ago

using snow leopard and latest appleworks 6. I installed using fontbook.app an old “Petersburg” font which I used for earlier appleworks docs. Fontbook installed the font in the User\Library\fonts folder with another old true type font “New York”. When you use fontbook to view the contents of the fonts folder only New York is visible – no listing of Petersburg but when you open the folder in the finder the Petersburg font is visable and get info indicates it is a font family. Created in 1991 and modified in 2002 the font works when I open updated appleworks documents. Quicklook doesn’t work with these files though. Also font book says I have duplicate fonts – should I worry about this and reduce duplicates?
