Font Size in Thunderbird Email App

By zlzpqx ·

Through Tools > Options in Thunderbird email app, I am able to have my preferred font size for composing/writing an email. However, when I copy a text in even a very large font size in any website and paste it into the "compose/write" window of Thunderbird, the font size invariably gets converted to a very small size. Further annoyingly, I am often not able to make the font size of the copied/pasted material any larger at all even after using the font-enlarging facility for the compose/write page.

Is there a solution for having the font size for the copied/pasted material the same as the one set in Tools > Options of Thunderbird?

Thank you.

Re: font size in thunderbird.

Great question. It's annoying and I noted it myself once in a while, but I never came to searching for a solution. I did now.

https://superuser.com/questions/744481/thunderbird-compose-message-and-set-font-size-for-all-pasted-text mentions two different ones:
(1) use ctrl-shift-v in stead of ctrl-v to paste
(2) use right-click>Paste without formatting to paste

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1177387 has a work-around:
(3) first copy to Notepad, then to the mail.

Hope this helps.
