Form Letter - Email

By robw ·
While in outlook 2000 you can press the New button and a blank email template appears which you type your email into.
I have several different standard emails which I send out to one user at a time quite often during the day.
I can open a document in Word and send a "canned" email from there but would rather do it from Outlook.
Is there any way to press a button in Outlook and have a prewritten email come up instead of a blank email template.

An easy way to do this is to create a document scrap. Create your initial canned email. Select all of the text and drag it to a folder or the desktop. This will create a document scrap (you can rename it if necessary). The next time you need to use this canned email, simpley drag the document scrap into the email message window.

Unfortunately, that just adds an attachment. The next solution from Goon is the best way which I have found.

also, you can create messages from HTML pages that you can access from the Actions/New Message Using menu listbox.

The path to where you need to store the HTML file is this:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery
for Outlook 2000....I can't remember if it's the same for Office97/Outlook98 or not.

By the way, that's how the stationary is created in Outlook messages....but instead of using the HTML for the background, this method uses HTML to create the form letter.

It's real easy, but let me know if I need to explain how to do it better.
