formatting in Excel 97, 2000. 2002 etc

Hi,
I am going to create a database with drop down lists, hyperlinks and maybe some visual basic coding in Excel 97. After creating the database if I open it in Excel 2002 or any other version of Excel will any of the formatting be lost?
