I just installed a new Foxconn motherboard (Foxconn M7PMX-S LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard ) in a customers system. Upon hooking up all the wires and other components, I powered on for the first time. Everything powers up, but it gets to a screen with the Foxconn logo and prompts me to either hit
Upon doing some research I discovered this from Foxconn on another IT forum.
“I contacted the Foxconn and I was sent a suggestion:
“Please setup this motherboard outside the case and then ONLY install the followings:
CPU + heatsink fan
a single stick of RAMs( install into the slot closest to the cpu socket )
24pin +12V 4pin power connector
graphic card
on/off switch
Now turn it on. Does it still freeze at the logo screen? IF it does NOT freeze with this minimum configuration then turn it off and then try to connect each devices back on one by one….”
I had to unhook all but the minimum and only put one stick of ram in. After that i started to install everything one by one and voila a normal computer.
I sure hope everyone does not have to do this with these mobo’s.
